Finnair Technical Services concluded a contract with German airline Condor
Flugdienst GmbH. The contract includes heavy maintenance, winglet and cabin
modification works and also engineering (including DOA works) for cabin
modifications and installations of new IFE system in collaboration with
Panasonic. Maintenance will be done on all of Condor's 13 Boeing 757-300
aircraft.
The maintenance and modification project will extend from November 2009 to
March 2012 concerning 30 individual maintenance checks in Helsinki. The value
of the contract is not disclosed. Finnair Technical Services has already
carried out four maintenance checks for Condor's fleet since 2008.
We appreciate the continuation of the co-operation with Condor. The contract
also strengthens Finnair's position as a Boeing 757 aircraft maintenance
provider in Europe, and indicates Finnair's competitiveness on world-wide
aircraft maintenance markets, says Sales Manager Jari Soukka from Finnair
Technical Services.
Condor, founded in 1955, is a part of the Thomas Cook AG. Condor operates
scheduled and charter traffic to destinations in America, Caribbean, Africa and
Asia. Condor's fleet consists 34 aircraft, in which 13 are Boeing 757-300.
Finnair Technical Services' annual turnover is over 200 million, of which
approximately 30% comes from customers outside of Finnair Group.
