Finnair Plc Press release Finnair's Change for Good collection has raised over one million euros for the world's children
The Finnair and UNICEF Finland Change for Good collection, which took place
over the festive period, raised this time 69,772 euros. During the 14 years
that the collection campaign has been held, Finnair and its customers have
raised more than one million euros for UNICEF's work, in fact a grand total of
1,001,380 euros precisely.
The money raised this year will go to support UNICEF's Clean Water and the
Environment for the Children of India programme, which will continue to be the
target for the collection for the next two years as well as. The programme
highlights in particular the importance of sanitation, hygiene and clean water.
Finnair has been cooperating with UNICEF since 1994 to improve conditions for
the world's children.
"I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our customers who
participated in the collection. The result is a fine one and reflects the
commitment of both customers and personnel to the campaign despite these
challenging times," says Finnair's SVP Community Relations and Communications
Christer Haglund.
The Christmas gift money for Finnair Plus Platinum Members was directed this
year to supporting the campaign and this boosted the money raised
substantially. This year, moreover, Finnair also donated money allocated for
Christmas cards to the Change for Good collection.
